We are a select school, unique in our educational approach. We offer a comprehensive program that encompasses all aspects needed to develop an effective practice in Soma Neuromuscular Integration, a form of Structural Integration. Upon completion of the SOMA Training students are eligible to sit for the Washington State Massage exam and the National Certification exam if they choose. Our school meets and surpasses all Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board requirements under which we are licensed.

Our program individualizes and specializes the focus each student receives. The teacher student ratio is minimum 2/10. Each student receives attention in the development of their whole expressive self. This insures students graduate competent to effectively develop their SOMA career while growing and healing within their own body/mind.

The school is located on 40 acres of land approximately 35 miles from Seattle and 20 miles from Tacoma. The rural area is in the foothills of Mt. Rainier, nearby Mt. Rainier National Park which has the best-built and best-maintained trails of any area in Washington. SOMA Institute is less than 45 minutes from Mt. Rainier and Crystal Mountain Ski Resort.

SOMA Institute is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education provider under Category A. The NCBTMB Certification program exceeds national standards set by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).

Each student is requested to purchase a Body Cushion as part of their equipment for their bodywork practice. This insures that the equipment being used supports and puts the client at ease which allows the student greater access to the body. Our students deserve the best tools available in beginning their structural bodywork practice.
