Learn with us! The Soma Institute offers various Continuing Education opportunities including the Soma Essentials: Somassage® workshop, Advanced Trainings for Soma practitioners, and various special topic workshops that are open to all touch therapists. Workshops and courses are taught by our instructors through the Soma Institute. In addition to continuing education courses, the Soma Institute is a Washington state approved massage therapy school and licensing program.
- Massage Therapy Continuing Education Requirements for Washington State—
- 8 hours or more must be in person and directly supervised involving the participation of the direct application of massage therapy
- 2 hours must be Health Equity Education Training
- 4 hours must be in Ethics (professional ethics, client or patient communication, professional roles and boundaries, or Washington state massage laws and rules)
- 2 of the 4 Ethics hours must be live and in-person
- Other requirements: maintenance of certification in American Heart Association CPR or equivalent

24 hours of Continuing Education is required for every two year period.
Of the 24 CE Hours:
Our Soma Essentials course fulfills all of the requirements needed for a 2-year period except for the Health Equity hours. We offer this course to cover the Health Equity hours.
